I am saddened to have missed Bob Parsons’ presentation. As a member of the Phoenix internet community and a fan of the entrepreneurial spirit I would have like to have heard what he had to say. It's great to hear such a focus on positive work place environments. The marriage of successful businesses and positive employee relations I think represents the tone of the growing high tech community in the Valley and Phoenix in particular. Does anyone who attended the lunch have any highlights or feedback?
I did not attend this particular lunch but there was a ribbon cutting in Phoenix last week for a new data center which they are opening up near 14th Street and Buckeye.
I went to that and was able to chat with Bob Parsons and his wife for a short time. The data center tour was interesting. It used to be a telecom company data center and some of that infrastructure is left but they have a lot of work to build it out and get up and running.
I believe that there is another opportunity to hear Bob speak coming up via the Arizona Technology Council on January 20, 2006.

Thanks Bill for the information! I went to the url noted above and read some interesting information about Bob, such as his business philosophy; "Parsons’ business philosophy has been to create low-priced, feature-rich products combined with the highest levels of customer service". Per my previous comment I feel that having this kind of business philosophy and positive employee relations as the crux of Phoenix businesses is really great for the local technology community. I didn't see any additional information on the Arizona technology Council meeting being held in downtown Phoenix in January though. Is this a membership community for technology professionals in the Valley? Do you know if there are going to be any additional speakers aside form Bob at the event?
Bob Parsons does a lot of public speaking, so I'm sure you'll get tons of chances to hear him again. Plus, there is a ton of tech stuff to do downtown now - not like five years ago. Check out Greater Phx Chamber - they have a ton of tech groups and events. Same with the user groups - must be about 20 of them downtown alone. AZ Tech Council, GPEC, even AMA has a tech arm now. Bob has spoken at many of these groups and probably will do again.
Here is the info about the January event.
