Greater Phoenix National College Fair Helps Arizona Students and Families Navigate the Road to Higher Education Friday October 7, 2:30 pm ET Free Statewide Event Offers Information and Resources for Planning and Paying for College GILBERT, Ariz., Oct. 7 The following is being issued by Southwest Student Services Corporation: WHAT: The Greater Phoenix National College Fair -- the largest college fair in Arizona -- is a free event that provides students and their families with the information and resources they need to plan and pay for higher education. WHO: * 6,000 parents and students, including eighth through twelfth graders, students attending community colleges, current college students seeking a graduate or professional degree and working adults thinking about going back to school * Over 200 national and international, public and private, two- year and four-year colleges and universities * National Association of College Admissions Counseling (NACAC) * Southwest Student Services Corporation (Southwest), a nationally recognized higher education lender with expertise in navigating the financial aid process * Sallie Mae, the nation's No. 1 paying-for-college company WHERE: Phoenix Civic Plaza, Hall D, 111 North Third Street, Phoenix WHEN: Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005 12 - 4 p.m. WHY: The process of selecting and paying for a college education can be a daunting task for both parents and students. Participants will learn about admission requirements, financial aid resources, course offerings, campus environment and other information pertinent to their college attendance and success. Sponsored by NACAC and now in its 33rd year, the National College Fair program has helped more than 700,000 students and families nationwide to explore their options for a higher education, making it one of the most visible college recruitment tools in the country. Nearly 60,000 students will graduate from Arizona high schools this year roughly one-third of all high school seniors in the state take the SAT, signaling an interest in pursuing a higher education.
